    Harassment:  Today's Landscape and How Employers Stay Ahead of the Curve

    Since October 2017, the #MeToo movement has prompted individuals to speak up in they experienced sexual assault or sexual harassment – especially in the workplace. As the number of complaints in the workplace increase, employers face difficult decisions on how to respond to the influx of allegations. Investigations have been hasty, shareholders are filing lawsuits, companies are terminating senior executives, settlements are large and reputations are damaged. As allegations continue to spread to all workplaces, employers must scrutinize operations to evaluate potential mistakes in how they handle complaints, investigations, policies, training, written agreements, etc. In addition to a legal update, this session will:

    ·       Provide guidance on competent internal investigations;

    ·       Analyze employee training from both a legal and practical perspective; and,

    ·       Address how to respond to issues raised in online communities.
